Description for Internal Candidates
Seeking an experienced Payment Engineer to help build, improve and maintain our Payment-related services and interaction with our Payment-Service-Provider. The ideal candidate will ensure fail-intolerant transactions and a seamless payment experience for the millions of customers we serve daily.
As a Payment Engineer, you will:
Work with an international team of developers to ensure an excellent Payment experience, maintainability, and ease of use.
Integrate and adopt new payment methods and providers to increase conversion.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve payment-related issues
Build and iterate impactful features related to our payment/checkout experience and identity management. These include the entire lifecycle of the transactional journey of a customer:
Payment Processing in real-time
Payment abstraction of servicing PSP
Make the payment workflow transparent and observable for customers and our customer support team
Write code using TypeScript/JavaScript, PHP, and sometimes Golang.
Empower yourself and your peers through pairing, code reviews, and supportive feedback.
Participate in a culture that values structured code reviews and deploying frequently.
Build the new monetization and product-packaging options and flows
Help mitigate payment risk and fraud.
An ideal candidate for this role will:
Have professional experience in designing, implementing and maintaining payment processing applications and microservices
Has solid experience in back-end development, ideally using NodeJs,PHP or Golang
Have experience with unit-, E2E-, integration- and contract-testing as well as with automation
Knowledge about AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda, Cognito)
Experience running a service environment with decoupled services under high load with large data sets.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines - we use GitHub Actions
Experience in Payment industry or FinTech
Experience with Authentication and Authorization protocols and standards
Have the willingness to experiment, evaluate, and introduce other team members to new frameworks, technologies, and workflows.
Demonstrate knowledge of application security models, the principle of least privilege, etc.
Good communication skills and the ability to pass on your knowledge.
You have up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle in a modern technology landscape.
You are comfortable with architecture discussions.
You do strong code reviews, ensuring best practices and business rules, performance, security, impact on other features or projects, and always with respectful and constructive communication.
Nice to have:
Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code software tools, Docker
Security and/or Compliance-as-Code
Familiar with interacting and working with Stripe
